Joke's on me!

We went to the Hair Fairies today to get T's lice removed.

It is EXPENSIVE... like I'm never going to be able to buy decent food again expensive but I needed peace of mind. I NEEDED IT GONE and THEY GUARANTEE IT.

So we did it.

He was a champ all day...

And as a precaution they had to check me.

Joke's on me...

I had it too.

And it costs us almost $1,000 to get rid of it. Yup.  

But it was worth it KNOWING that all the critters were gone.

Now tell Grandma... I've had lice AND worms

Worst. Friday. Ever.

We have to go back Monday for a final comb but we are in the clear.  No more nits, no more lice... but they are thorough and make sure soooo - it will be 30 minutes in and out then DONE.

OMG I will eat bathe and drink and eat and swim in tea tree oil all day long if I can avoid EVER doing this again!!!!

One for the record books...

So you've been scratching... but you hate "wash your hair day" (every other day) and you swim a lot right now.  Yup... eczema.

I wish.

Today, I saw bugs.  You my sweet boy has lice.

Yup, wonderful, amazing... awesome (SAID NO ONE EVER) you have lice.

I just died a little bit.  I'm itchy and I feel like our world is infested.

So now I will head to bed like this:

Grandma wanted me to feel better so she told me a family secret.. apparently I had tape worm or ring worm or some nasty worm that she saw.

What a weekend!!

I was outnumbered...

Then I hit the shower and was off to see the Broadway Musical - Dirty Dancing for my birthday!

Sunday, T and I woke up early and headed off to Fossil Rim.  Once again.. it was my birthday gift to me and T was happy to oblige!

Dyslexia...

Well Nugg, that's what they say you have.  Dyslexia.  At first I cried.  A lot.  I was sad, and scared and angry.  I don't want you to struggle with anything like this. I want you to enjoy school, love reading and get great grades, a great job and have a successful career.  

I've not decided that even thought you "have" this... it doesn't define you.  This is simply a hurdle that you will face, and one that WE will learn to deal with.  

There are many things I dislike about living in Dallas... many... but I find it no coincidence that God has you at Grace Academy, we have found Mrs. Fortune to help you a few days a week AND we found Sandi Frost to administer your testing.  Those things are ALL a huge blessing.  I'm also thankful, VERY thankful that I followed my gut (at the prodding of Mrs. Galimore) and had you tested at such a young age.  It was 100% worth it.  Ya know why? Because now, I CAN HELP YOU.

So someday, if you read this... I want you to know that it scared me.  It made me feel like people might pick on you.  But then.... I heard all of the stories about how successful people that have this are.  They think outside of the box, they are entrepreneurs.. and then, right then, I realized... you have SO MUCH THAT GOD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH... you are going to knock this out of the park and be the 100% awesome man I know you can be!!
