We arrived and dumped our stuff and T immediately wanted to swim in the pool. We convinced him that while that pool looked fun... that he would reaaaaaally want to go to the beach!! So, off we went.
Here is T's first time seeing the ocean (that he can recall)
and he.is.hooked!
we buried him in the sand the next day...
even took a stroll one morning to see the non-existent "low tide" and he said "can I get my feet wet?" I should have known better than to say yes... we walked home and he was drenched at 7am!!
Next day we bought him a board and he was off to body surf! And that he did!!
He and Daddy were sand castle builders - all sorts of beach fun was had!!
then we walked the boardwalk....
and watched big ships come in...
and man, this cat was T-I-R-E-D - every night!!
On Friday we headed to the Everglades to see alligators and ride an air boat.
And yes, we saw crocs!!
and gators!! (I see that you see me dude!!)
and I even PAID $5 for my child to hold one (that didn't even have his mouth taped - YIKES!)
That night my boy lost his 3rd tooth. Well.. it's been driving him insane for months... so I stuck my nails under there and just pulled that bad boy out! He was shocked but then VERY happy!!
and yes, the tooth-fairy sure did find him!!!
Daddy had to get his fill of seafood... so we ate in a lot and saved money so we could splurge on Joe's Stone Crab House
We drove to Key Largo and while it was it an epic fail for beaches (worst in the country) T still got a new snorkel gear set out of it!!
We were ready to head back to TX... but had one.more.stop.
Mommy's stop!! JUNGLE ISLAND!!!
I dumped A LOT of money on the "lemur experience" and it was worth EVERY penny!!!
the videos are even better
Holt found a parrot that looked just like his old bird Polly!
T got to love on a parrot or two!!
and hold snakes!!
then we pet a ton of kangaroos (I was SO freaking happy)
lastly, Holt gave me an early b-day present....
I PET/HELD A BABY LION CUB! BEST.DAY.EVER!!!!!!!
