His last day being SIX!

I want to cry... it's going by SO quickly... but, alas, once again... he fills my hearts with giggles

He made a paper camera and took a picture of me taking a picture of him...

those blue eyes

showing off his gifts from Jim and Dean (Funky bracelet and a gator foot necklace)

he did EVERY shot on his own...

This he's used to the camera on him?

just a touch!

then... in only drama he can deliver...

he shows me ANOTHER tooth that is 95% out.  But, alas, he wants that to come out ON his birthday!

and the... his final request,,, that we take a pic of how tall he has gotten

Mercy.. back to sad because do you see that growth!?!!?

Well, tomorrow I bind another blog and store it away - hoping that someday it blesses you.  I don't write as much as I used to in here... guess I'm more busy living now and well, it's just me talking to pages so after a while.. I wonder if I've said everything you need to know... here are a few facts about you...

Favorites:
  • Food: beef tacos, pasta, teriyaki chicken and rice and pizza sticks
  • Veggies: Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, celery and lettuce
  • Show: Wild Kratts, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Jake, Miles from Tomorrowland
  • Sports: that's hard- soccer, baseball, basketball, football... any and all I suppose
  • Candy - gum and suckers
  • Song - you like anything and everything
  • Video game - Minecraft and Jurrassic World X-Box 360
  • Bedtime - you still love blankie but never in public anymore
  • Scripture - you have Psalm 100: 1-5 memorized like a champ.  I can't even say it!!
  • Best friend - Grayson... and you throw in Davis a lot too!
  • You love animals and the lake... part me... part Daddy for sure!

Dislikes:
  • Clothes... my gosh you still hate jeans and buttons
  • Not a huge fan of pizza (I die a little every time I admit this) or meat unless it's beef jerky
  • You really don't like 'wash your hair day' (every other) and you can't stand getting nails clipped on Sundays
  • You refuse to ride a bike or use your new scooter...  not a fan of stuff you aren't automatically good at (you MIGHT get that from me)

Random:
  • You are a morning person and are always happy when you get up
  • You love to dance and sing worship songs
  • Your thing of choice to do with Daddy is "battle" in any and every form and with me... I think read or play Jurassic Park Lego X-Box 360 because...well, we rock at it!
  • Everyone at Grace says you are the sweetest, most love able, huggable kid... yet Daddy and I have to beg for affection... you'll have to explain that to me someday
  • You always say you are happy you don't have a sibling so you don't have to share your toys
  • You love sleepovers (see above, I think that's why - LOL)
  • You are a FANTASTIC kid to travel with - you take issues like a champ and you never complain.. seriously, it's amazing - wait until you have kids of your own
  • You are in Book 2 of your Take Flight program and you are becoming SUCH a great reader, I couldn't be more proud of how hard you are working!
  • You love your friends well
  • You know how to say "I'm sorry" and "I forgive you"
  • You have a heart for others and want to help anyone and everyone you see
  • You are proud to be from Texas (and I constantly remind you ... there is NY blood all up in those veins!"
  • You are very close to your Grammy and your Bebah and you love your Bumpa and your Grandpa so much

You mean the world to me Tristan.  I wouldn't change a hair on your head, nope, just wouldn't.  Thank you for being true to who you are, for being funny, and sweet and kind. For caring about people and animals and the world around you. YOU make our Lord proud and I can't wait until you tell me that He lives in your heart. I'm pretty sure He does but the day you exclaim it... wow.

Happy 6 years and 364 days old.  Your Mommy loves you more than the air she breathes!!!

Now those are some great grades.....

So proud of how well you are doing Nugg!

Christmas in Kentucky

Well, on December 23rd we headed to Lexington to my sister's for Christmas.

Got to the airport, no long lines, took our bags, had breakfast - boom! On our way!

Landed in CLT, had lunch walked around...

Flight. Cancelled.

Couldn't get us to LEX for at least a day (via Chicago) and we were DONE!

So, we rented the last car availa ble (thank you Lord) and drove...

6 hours ...

in this.

Oddly enough, we missed all of the storms (again, thank you Lord) and made it to my sister's close to 1am.  Pour the wine!!!

Anyway, the next day was much better - we were off for Christmas Eve dinner

after dinner Holt, T, my mom and I headed over to the Smithwicks for the reading of the Christmas story!!

These two reunited once again!!!

the kids loved it, was SO great!!

after reading, the boys played some basketball and Tristan quickly made friends!

We headed home and left our cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer

We also have a little light so Santa knows how to find us since we are traveling
(thank you North Pole movie!)

Christmas Day was filled with a lot of relaxing..

and of course, lots of gifts!!

Spoiled!

Gwen knit us all hats.. they are SO fun!  We are the little foxes!

Mom and all of her fashion

Dinner (IN JAMMIES of coruse!)

an then we all worked on Z's puzzle for FOUR hours!

the next day it poured rain so Grammy and I took T for some fun at Chuck-E-Cheese!

Then the girls learned to knit and crochet!

That's my first glove!!!

Tristan discovered the selfie stick and had quite a good time!

We ended things with a visit to John and Gingers.  Dinner with friend and the boys played.  This was the first time we met Cash... he is a riot!

Vitruvian Park fun

You have to see this place to do it justice....

HUNDREDS of lit trees.  It's beautiful!

I gimped aaaaaall the way from the parking lot (it seemed like 15 miles)

to where the action was!

We ate off the food truck then had cotton candy, listened to live music and T must have rolled down the huge hills 20 times.

~ Mr. Stash, 2015 ~

I love special moments with my boy.  He is FILLED with Christmas spirit and I am so thankful for that.  I hope it last until you are 100 Tristan!

Now, off to RACK some more people!  We've had a blast with that too!!!
